The Tarot is a pictographic novel of the hidden mysteries. Like a comic book but with all the pages loose. This means that through the Tarot we can travel the Fool's journey, from birth to enlightenment, by any path we choose. Used as an oracle for divination purposes the Tarot is highly misunderstood. All too often readers of the tarot personify their decks, giving them empathy and judgement, wisdom and power where none actually exists. All these qualities exist not in the cards but in us, the people. We are the ones with the magnificent brains, willing to tease meaning from coincidence, archetypes and symbols. We are the ones with the power to change by sheer force of will the predicaments of our lives. We are the ones that can enact a future of our own choosing. Allow me to tear down the superstition inherent in the use of the Tarot so we can build up an understanding of the human condition by exploring the subject matter reflected in each of these wonderful cards.
